Media Centre
The school library and media centre monitor programme.
The school library and media centre is open during breaks and after school, providing learners with access to books, reference materials, and research resources.
Staff
The media centre is managed by Mrs Theron and Mr Kühn, who oversee the collection, organise reading programmes, and coordinate the monitor system.
Becoming a Monitor
Learners who wish to become media centre monitors must pass an admittance test that assesses their knowledge of library systems, cataloguing, and customer service. Successful candidates commit to at least one break period and one afternoon per week on duty.
Facilities & Academic Use
The multimedia centre serves as a venue for Computer Applications Technology (CAT) classes, providing learners with access to computers and software for their coursework. The school maintains internet filtering to ensure a safe online environment for all students, blocking inappropriate content while still allowing access to educational resources.
Recognition
Dedicated media centre monitors are recognised through the school's merit awards system. Consistent service and reliability throughout the year can earn monitors academic and service merit points.
